Lavender Oil & Eucalyptus Oil - Two Australian Natural Icons

Lavender Oil & Eucalyptus Oil - Two Australian Natural Icons

 Lavender Oil

Lavender oil has been proven to change your brain waves from the waking state (Beta) to the relaxed/sleep state (theta). Pretty cool right!

You can see why it’s used for people who either have trouble falling to sleep and allowing people to go into that delicious deeper REM sleep. The sleep you wake up from feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world!

Something as impressive is that Lavender oil has been shown to increase collagen and increase the regeneration of skin cells.

The study proved conclusively that collagen was increased significantly. It also stayed at higher levels for a long time after topical applications were terminated.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and plays an important part when talking about skin. As we age our collagen decreases. This causes the elasticity in our skin to weaken and not ‘bounce back’ as quickly as it did when we’re younger.

So something natural with no side effects and no need to inject your face with toxic botox that keeps you looking younger naturally..... AND has a calming effect that helps with sleep. What more could you ask for?

Maybe someone to massage it in, a private jet waiting to whisk you off to your favorite holiday destination. I’ll keep playing lotto for the jet but the Lavender I’m doing straight away!

You can buy our Lavender Oil in our online store. It's also one of the powerful ingredients in our best selling product The Pink Salt Facial Cleanser.

Eucalyptus Oil

Native to Australia there are over 700 species of eucalyptus. If you ask any Koala what’s their fav food, they’d tell you Eucalyptus leaves.

The red sap or gum that oozes from Eucalypts have been used by indigenous cultures for centuries. For treating scars, helping with wound healing and gum disease.

All well and good but how can you benefit from Eucalyptus?

One thing we’ve done a number of times is to break off a branch with a lot of leaves. Crush them with our hands and put them in the bath with really hot water. Wait till the water is tolerable and then jump in.

It’s so good for your skin, hair and your lungs will love breathing in the steamy eucalyptus scent.

As far as eucalyptus oil for the skin, there is nothing much in the way of benefits. For cleaning the house and giving a room a nice fresh scent, then eucalyptus is definitely one to consider.

You can find our Eucalyptus Essential Oil here.

We use it in our famous Rainforest Mist Essential Oil blend and it's a crowd favourite that can freshen up any room.

Some ways to use the essential oils are in a vaporiser, in a hot shower or bath, in the carpet of your car. You can mix either Lavender oil or Eucalyptus oil with a carrier oil like olive oil/sweet almond/coconut and apply. Lavender oil for the face and body but Eucalyptus oil, not offering much for the skin, could be used for joint pain or too warm up the muscles.

Sleeping

For sleeping, add a drop of lavender oil to an old sock and put it under your pillow throughout the night. Use some of that Lavender+carrier oil and apply directly to the soles of your feet before bed. Put on some socks to keep your feet warm and so you don't get your sheets too oily.

We also have an essential oil blend called Sleepy. It features a lot of Lavender oil amongst other relaxing & calming essential oils like Sandalwood, Rose Geranium, Frankincense, Cedarwood & Ylang Ylang.
